Mulligan's in Decatur, GA serves a "luther burger" named after luther vandross which is a bacon cheeseburger between two krispy kreme donuts. Leno has been talking about this all week.

Before you guys say anything about omnis, if someone had a vegan version of this you would all be in line at 4 am tommorrow morning to get one.

Nope. Not if I was paid. Krispy Kreme makes me want to just by itself.

Just give me vegan Krispy Kreme, and leave out the rest.

We see the world as "we" are, not as "it" is; because it is the "I" behind the "eye" that does the seeing.

That sounds SO bad.

Are people putting alfredo sauce on their ice cream too?

Even if it WAS vegan, some things aren't supposted to be eaten together.

I don't like eating dessert right after my meal for that reason.

No joke. I like veggie burgers and I like sweets, but I'd prefer they not be mashed together in one bite. Ick. I'd like my dessert on the side, please.

I was up at 4 am this morning. Not really by choice, however.

Sorry to get OT. I wouldn't eat a vegan version of that thing if you paid me! (well, maybe if it was a decent figure, like a million $$, but otherwise...)

Ick. As a former frequent double western bacon cheeseburger eater, I must say that the idea of adding donuts to that equation is simply repulsive.

I have to agree with it being not only gross, but such an idiotic combination to begin with.

I also can't stand Krummy Kreme. Too sickly sweet. It's like diabetes in a doughnut

When I was omni, meat and mayo together just seemed wrong from a taste angle.

I tried Krispy Kreme donuts once and didn't care for them. I can honestly say that the best donut I've ever had was at Mighty-O in Seattle -- all donuts are vegan and organic.

There is a place in Pittsburgh called Primanti Brothers that makes all of their sandwiches with cole slaw and fries right on the sandwich. I had one as an omni and it wasn't bad.

i just made a veggie luther with a mushroom lovers morning star pattie and a split in half glazed krispy kreme with a slice of sharp cheddar and baconaise. pretty good. I thought about adding some kimchi or arugala but greens seem antithetical to the luther. i would have stopped to take pictures but i was hungry. but i think i'll make it again sometime.

serve with Hot Dr. Pepper with a slice of lemon. good stuff.

Otomik - reading through this thread I was about to reference the Boondocks, tanks!!

I actually had the opportunity to try one as an omi and passed on it. Just looked as a heart attack waiting to happen (plus, I saw the Boondocks episode in my head and that helped as a deterrent). But my ex had one...

I never knew they would go ahead and actually pick up this idea but I am afraid it has been done before. This is a clip from a t.v. show from 2006

I've never made a luther burger per se, but I did make a vegan burger that got up and nailed a bunch of reformatory ideas on a church door, so that was pretty close.
