I have the thread posts listed from newest first to oldest last. That way I can see the latest posts first whenever I open a thread, instead of having to slog through pages of posts I've already read.

What about the rest of you guys and gals?

I go oldest to newest. It encourages me to read the whole thread. Plus I'm too lazy to figure out how to change it

well, i'm quite the newbie.

but i have mine set newest to oldest. but i frequently scroll through the main threads to see what other posts have been out there.

also, if i read one post, i'll scroll to the bottom and look at the list of other posts that have similar subjects to it. i've found things from 2, 3yrs ago. it's nice to be able to go back that far and read things that i've missed.

I have to have the new ones at the end, or it messes with my linear brain.

I have the newest on the bottom of the page, but often use the "view new posts" page, click the "last post" thingy...and scroll up to the last post I remember, then read down again.

I have oldest to newest. If you have cookies enabled, opening a thread will automatically take you to the newest unread post.

yep. same here. tho sometimes it takes ~5 seconds for the page to complete and I get impatient and cranky. and sometimes it takes a few minutes for the cookie to register, or something, because sometimes I'll click on a thread and it will take me to a spot I read a few minutes ago.

I've found that yelling, "I already read that!!" to the computer doesn't help.
