Hey!

We had the tiniest meet of all. Just the VBers from Sydney, or rather, the ones we knew lived in Sydney.

We drank beer, we ate vegetarian food, and we drank beer again. Here we are.

Josh & his wife Oregan Amy, a ring-in, & Kurm. The next one is me, Kiz, and Josh again. The food on the table is great. It would be good to have a hell-load more people next time, not that we didn't have fun.

whee! thanks for posting those, kizzy-poo. I had a really nice time chatting with everyone, once we got over that awkward, "uhhh oh my god we're talking about the weather" stage.

That restaurant is one of several all-vegetarian restaurants in sydney. yay! We had stuffed bean-curd-skin rolls, honey soy "chicken", veggie rice noodles, fake meat cold cuts, and braised gluten w/veggies. We cleaned up!

Next time - Mother Chu's!

The strange vegan noodle house that sells fake meat is good too. So many types of teas! Shame about the uber-restricted trading hours.

Does Josh post on the boards? And "a ring-in" - I'm not sure what that means - who is that?

He does, sometimes - as Joshinoz. Hands off, mikie!

I think "ring-in" means she rang up her friend & invited her along. She was way cool!

A ring-in is an Australian racing term for an imposter. Dinah is an imposter as she is not actually vegetarian. I was having lunch with her prior and just carted her along. She is not, has not, nor will very like ever not, be on VB.

I love how everyone else is trying to smile for the camera, even though obviously their mouths are stuffed with food. Kurm, though, is focused on what's important...

A man who's got his priorities straight! So, give us the dirt - what was Kurm like in real life?

Kurm is, indeed, a cutie. Love the John Lennon style glasses.

Kiz is a cutie too. You can't really see it in the piccie very well, but she's got this rockin' amber necklace that she MADE! It's so awesome!

Amy and Josh are the first and only Americans I've ever hung out with in person, and I loved it. There's more to them than just their Americanism, of course, and I wish I could have hung around longer (damn Sydney trains; I should have driven in to North Sydney).

Oh, and Josh is a James Squire drinker!

I wish I could afford to come to Australia and be the next!
