Why did the prince need Cinderella's shoe to be able to identify her?

Did he suffer from a condition called face blindness (prosopagnosia) or did he have a foot fetish?

Yes! A related question is: Why don't Clark Kent's coworkers recognize him as Superman?
.

_________

Specific recommendations for a healthy diet include: eating more fruit, vegetables, legumes, nuts and grains; cutting down on salt, sugar and fats. It is also advisable to choose unsaturated fats, instead of saturated fats and towards the elimination of trans-fatty acids."

He wears ill-fitting clothes to give the impression that he is out of shape. His hair and posture are completely different. Also, his glasses distort the color of his eyes, making them look different than Superman's.

There is also the fact that Clark arranges to be seen alongside Superman on occasion, through the use of shape-shifters (Martian Manhunter) pretending to be either Clark or Superman.

Here's a theory: Cinderella (translation: cinder girl - a girl who cleans the fireplace) may have spent her days smudged with the cinders/ashes from her housework drudgery. All the debris may have altered her appearance, compared to her radiant look at the ball.

Here are some other mysteries: How likely is it that Cinderella was the only woman with that shoe size? Wouldn't the shoe have fit many women in the kingdom? Were Cinderella's feet abnormally large or small? I had to look this up on Wikipedia - it's interesting that the Cinderella story has a ton of variants, plus much older/darker plot elements.

In the Grimms Brothers version the wicked stepmother sliced pieces of her daughters' feet off to try to get them to be able to fit into the *special* shoe but it didn't work. Their feet were still too big. So Cinderella must've had atypically tiny, dainty little feet.

Similar to foot binding. Humans are a rotten lot.
