I was recently called and asked to interview for a job (i did not apply to) with ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) www.acorn.org

I am curious if anyone knows the dirt on this group... I have protested with them in the past on specific issues. I agree with what I have read abou them as well.. is there anything you all know that I haven't heard?

I just want to be informed as possible... And before you slander please please give me a reference, if you can.

Thanks everyone!

I've only had some peripheral experiences with them, but they've been positive. Some folks who worked with ACORN on the east side of the state came and rallied/petitioned with us re childcare funding issues here in MI.

Also, I met some people at the SOA protest who were employed directly by ACORN in the DC area somewhere..they were focused on affordable housing.

The ones I pity are the ones who never stick out their neck for something they believe, never know the taste of moral struggle, and never have the thrill of victory. - Jonathan Kozol

Well I go in to tomorrow for training so I guess I'll let everyone know LOL thanks for the reply

I like their stance on alot of issues thus far... They seem to depend a bit on "the system" a bit to much... But they get alot done as well.. so... I guess I might as well giver a shot!

Thanks again!
