It depends on how you define "speak"

I speak English, can get by in French (lived in Belgium/France 2 years but when I was only 4/5) and probably in Spanish (2 years of Spanish class in high school), and know some Swahili (lived in Zaire for a few years)

However I am not fluent in any of these languages, except for English, of course!

I can prattle off in English and Spanish. I can work my way through Portuguese and Italian. Took my first class in Russian just this week.

ETA: and of course, Pig Latin

I can only speak English, but I'm rather good at translating Latin (as it isn't a spoken language ) and started trying to learn Dutch this summer.

I want to learn Polish and German, and maybe even some Japanese if my life is not too short

i speak english, isixhosa & afrikaans (which means i can understand and kinda read dutch & flemish). i also tried to teach myself french, but that failed miserably

anyway i still have a lot to learn at home because in south africa we have eleven (11) official languages: Xitsonga, Tshivenda, SiSwati, Setswana, Sesotho, Sepedi, IsiZulu, IsiXhosa, IsiNdebele, English, & Afrikaans. we also have several non-official but recognised languages: Khoe, Nama, San, Phuti, Sign Language, Northern Ndebele, Lobedu, & Fanagalo.

I know this is an older thread, but I had to post...I'm a linguistics major =)

So...English, French are fluent, Finnish is intermediate, Japanese is beginner. Latin is pretty good if you want to count that. Can read Spanish and Italian, speak some Estonian. Languages are too much fun not to learn them all!!
