New game. Mostly cause I'm bored. Here's how it goes. I post the lyrics. If you know the song, name it! And then post new lyrics for someone to guess!

Lyrics:

I beg of you, don't say goodbye.

Can't we give our love another try?

C'mon baby, let's start anew...

"Love songs? 24-hours a day, love songs! Just climb into a bathtub and cut your wrists, love songs... And, if you're listening in your car, be sure to seal that garage door tightly..." - Richard Jenny

I have no idea what song that is, BTW.

Oh! And it was done by a girl band before that in the 60's...

"Yes! Live! Life's a banquet and most poor suckers are starving to death!" Auntie Mame

Breaking up is . . . ouuu, you BEAT me baby . . .

Ok, here's one for the rockers . . . NO SEARCH ENGINES NOW

"Every inch of you looks like a lady

So don't get caught here in the city at nite

And if you wanna take a chance and go down crazy

I sell protection for a price

Well, call it love or call it murder

This is the crime of the century

No, don't point that thing at me"

1980s, think of Van Halen's first lead singer who made a few records with probably the best rock guitarist on the planet . . . man, what a hint . . .

(sigh) ok, ok . . . time's up

"Elephant Gun" by David Lee Roth, off his first solo lp "Eat 'Em And Smile". Remember "Yankee Rose" ? Steve Vai was his guitar man on those efforts.

Dunno Bank. I've dug down deep in the memory and am coming up short. I wasn't a big fan of David Lee's solo work though.

Steve Vai. You are right about him being the best guitarist. I have every one of his CD's. Matter of fact, he signed my back stage pass. Saw him on the G3 tour with Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Joe Satrianni. Heaven.

Ok

Easier: Some say a comet will fall from the sky.

Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.

Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still.

Followed by millions of dumbfounded dip****s

Harder: We're goin' out in the West, down to the cathedrals

We're goin' out in the West (alright), down to the beaches

And the Sisters of Mercy, behind the sun

Oh behind the sun

And William Blake and the Sisters of Mercy looking for the Veedon Fleece

The first one is Tool - Armmegeddon ( I know I didn't spell that right)

Some say the end is near, some say we'll see Armmegeddon soon...

A kiss may be grand

But it won't pay the rental

On your humble flat

Or help you feed your pussy cat
