Alyssa Milano is the new face of Atkins

Bit of a surprise. Former vegetarian Alyssa Milano is now the face of Atkins:

She's hawking their line of crap-tastic low-carb junk foods.

Atkins is also petitioning to have the U.S. Dietary Guidelines changed (the proposed recommendations against high-fat dairy and red meats are contrary to the Atkins message). However, the public comment period for the 2015 Guidelines ended in May.

Specific recommendations for a healthy diet include: eating more fruit, vegetables, legumes, nuts and grains; cutting down on salt, sugar and fats. It is also advisable to choose unsaturated fats, instead of saturated fats and towards the elimination of trans-fatty acids."

What a joke. From the face of PETA to the face of Atkins. Not that I think PETA really does such a bang up job in the first place. At least not there stupid over sexualized ad campaigns I have no idea who they're trying to target with those. I can't speak to their actual rescue efforts though haven't done any research into that.
