OH! I forgot this was a New Years Resolution thread...

I resolve to quit pussing out and finally chat up the broad at the coffeeshop with the nosering

Max: here's a poem for your coffeeshop "broad."

Psalm #49 for the Hopeless Romantic

Shes having coffee

Black I think judging

By the unused creamers

Still precariously perched

Pyramidal in the ceramic dish

The server brought

And Ill admit it

Im staring.

Im staring and Its creeping me out

But god damn

If the curve of her right leg

Like god fire chiseled mahogany

Sloped perfectly from periwinkle

Skirt

To brown Chuck Taylor low tops

Dont make me want to have

Been born Baptist

In the bayou

With the art of speaking in tongues

Tattooed on the back of

Young throats

Where women grow like magnolias

Strong

And damn-near perfect

Clutching good books

With the passages

Underlined and

I want to take my eucharist

And feel the breath of Old gods and monsters

Rising from the Euphrates armed with good wishes

And ankhs offering old religion I want to

To be rectified in Marys Eyes, sanctified in the

Waters rise baptized

In the curve of your left hip

And lose my equilibrium

In the smokehouse back room

Ferment

Of your voice

As you tell me about

How you grounded out in the 5th inning

Of your T-ball championship game

About

How your grandmother always tried

To put your hair in bows

Or how

You developed a thing for Poncho Sanchez

And Cubano All Stars your freshman

Year at Kansas State

And you could always

Tell the difference between Orion

And Cassiopeia

Because Cassiopeia is a summer

constellation

and I cant help but

think we couldve been

movie stars

the pale frail skin ghosts

of OToole and Audrey Hepburn

luminescent

in the glow of flashbulbs

flickering

In gold tin alleys of MGM studios

Our smiles

Framed in silver Kodachrome

On someones living room wall

Or a memorabilia shop on Ventura blvd.

I want champagne

And dewdrop sunsets in Monaco

I want to tap dance

A sestina

Screaming Bhagavad Gita

In the garden of Gasemene

I want to know

The moment you realized

You were a child of god

The first time you felt his fingertips

Caressing the underside of your

Rib cage

I want to be able to be 86 years old

Doing a crossword puzzle

Whole you crochet a baby blanket

For our first great-granddaughter

And when I ask

A 6 letter word for extravagantly

Perfect

You would know

And smile

And not tell me

Because that would be cheating

I want the type of love story

Only possible with a sound rack

Trapped in the plastic casing

Of VHS

I want devils food cake and Diet Coke

In our forties

On 1-25 outside of Provo

At 2 am

I want cannon blasts

In my ribcage

When I see you

Without make up in the morning

I want to give you so many orgasms

The word curls up and dies

I want to cry

I want to worship

I want to sleep

I want to bless coffee mugs

With the curve of your lips

I want to love you

Like tidal waves

Like jackhammers

I want all that

But you probably just want

To finish your coffee

without some weird guy staring

at you

and I can give you that

My New Year's resolution is to get back into my workout routine. Being a first year teacher, I've been so busy w/work that I started slacking on going to the gym. I decided the new year is a good time to get back into it.

I think you should talk in the third person. Some of my friends in HS used to do this to bug our math teacher.

I wanna get another tattoo this summer. I should have the funds my then.

Skylark thinks Max Power has a good idea. She does this frequently with her friends who are just as weird as her. *she gasps* Is there anyone as strange as Skylark? The world shrinks at the thought.

If I had the time this would be a good goal. I miss my early morning runs through the park and working out in the back yard with my "little" brother.

RSJ,

How about if your Seadolphin help you find the time as one of your collective resolutions? Isn't it usually easier to create and maintain time for exercise if you have an exercise partner?

Anytime. Now all I have to do is implement that idea myself. :P
