My old man is voting for Nina Hagen and David Duchovny. I'm still deciding. How about you guys?

I guess I'm not into celeberities enough to know who the fakes are? Can you maybe name a few so we can poke fun at them? I've noticed a few porn stars and several rappers which I find really interesting.

OK I've decided I'm voting for Angela Bassett from the movie Strange Days. She is the hottest most bad assed woman I've ever seen on film HANDS DOWN. She should have played Storm in the XMEN and X2 insead for Halle. I'd like to see her throw Halle through a wall, that would be hot...

For the guys it was a toss up but I finally settled on Anthony Kiedis from The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Sure would help if there were pictures of these folks. I voted for India Arie as she is a vegan and an organic vegan at that. She is very hot.

Orlando Bloom definitely got my vote.

And Alicia Silverstone for the woman choice, as I love how vocal she is and unashamed of her views. She is very pretty as well!

Hmpf, 90% of those people are utterly unknown to me. At least I know who Nina Hagen is... (But I wonder why Brigitte Bardot is on the list - she's veg alright, but still... Must be to demonstrate diversity or something.)

The IVU has a list that you might use to weed out the fakes (not sure how up to date it is):

http://www.ivu.org/people/

According to that list, possible fakes are e.g. Avril Lavigne and Kim Basinger.

I no longer post here after VB was sold in 2012. (See my profile page for details.)

I voted for Alicia Silverstone and Sir Ian McKellen. I know she's the real deal because she's very outspoken about her views. Not sure about him, but he makes me swoon.

Edit: He is! http://www.mckellen.com/writings/veggie.htm

They are missing RZA. He is more well known than all of the hip hop artists they put on their list aside from maybe Andre 3000 from outkast. They are missing Method Man as well and last I heard, he eats a vegan diet. Actually, they are missing a lot of hip hop artists. I think they are more hip hop artists who are vegetarian than any other music format.

I voted for Pamela Anderson because she has a phenomenal little body and she's into activism and stuff like that. I think the fact that she's so well known illustrates that veg*nism does not equal a sickly appearance. I also voted for Orlando Bloom because he's just sooo beautiful.

Interesting side note: There were way more men on this list than women. Last night I was talking to two women and they were saying something about how vegetarianism seems to be more popular for women and that most male vegetarians that she knows about are on the feminine side. I set them straight, but I'm still contemplating emailing this list to her.

It's a bit surprising that there are quite a few more men than women. I would have thought that female celebrities would be more common.

I heard the ratio of female compared to male vegetarians is 3 to 1. It's even more lop sided when it comes to vegans.

And neither is Pamela Anderson. Her personal cook has been quoted in interviews talking about Pammy's appetite for fish.

Oh yeah, you may be right Seavenseas. I hear a lot of people in the punk lifestyle are vegan so the bands may be as well.

Pam claims to be a vegetarian in all the interviews I've seen. I would take the cook's claims with a grain of salt.
