Hi hi lovelies!

Just thought I'd see whether anybody else has dreads and ask a few questions ?

I've always wanted them but a few myths kept my urges at bay ( such as you can't swim with them or thick curly hair makes terrible curly dreads ( actually, apparently thick hair makes great dreadlocks fodder ) til they were recently corrected. If I'm ever going to do it, the time is night.

But the only other radical thing I've been doing with my hair is cutting it all off for years. It's now longer than it's been in a while but not even shoulder length.
Can I get dreads with hair that short? Extensions were recommended, has anybody had experience with these? Can people with thick hair have thin dreads or is that not how it works?

..and so forth...

Any help is much appreciated!!

Ha. I know a few people who agree!

Am also just considering extensions but I don't know how they work with curly hair and I much prefer the statement dreads make. Ideally, I'd just grow them but my hair is so short and I don't have the time or skill to twist and rip...

I had them for a while a long time ago. You can dread shorter hair but they might stick up a bit. There are some good websites around - try www.knottyboy.com for info on different hair types and aftercare :)

That awkward moment when your partner walks into the kitchen to find you huddled in the corner with an open container of nooch and a spoon and your mouth encrusted with little flakes...
