UC Berkeley scientists have developed a system to capture visual activity in human brains and reconstruct it as digital video clips. Eventually, this process will allow you to record and reconstruct your own dreams on a computer screen. I just can't believe this is happening for real, but according to Professor Jack GallantUC Berkeley neuroscientist and coauthor of the research published today in the journal Current Biology"this is a major leap toward reconstructing internal imagery. We are opening a window into the movies in our minds."

This is CRAZY. Soon they will be able to record our dreams.

All I can think of is Minority Report lol. Awesome and horrifying at the same time.

It's only a matter of time now before they figure out how to stick commercials into our sleep ala Futurama.

Scary and creepy. Being able to view and remember some dreams would be cool but for people plagued with frequet nightmares this wouldn't be good at all.

On the upside, maybe I'll soon be able to see what's going through my girlfriend's pug's head when he's air humping in his sleep.

Presumably you wouldn't decide to record your nightmares and relive them at your convenience

I'm amazed at the amazing technologies and advancements that could come from this! But also concerned about the potential abuses.

I think there was a Law & Order SVU about this where the dreams of a teen helped figure out who the killer was.

I'd like a recording of that dream I had over 20 years ago, where Aliens showed me a schematic/formula for time traveling, on a huge digital black board.

I don't think anyone is going to be interested in looking at the pictures from my dreams. With the occassional full-on exception about once every five years, mine are usually pretty mundane.

I wish I could record my dreams. I'd be the next JK Rowling.

I have some of the weirdest dreams myself though.

Some of them can be really long too.

I was just thinking how useful this could be to writers and other people who make a living off of sharing their creativity.

It would be so weird to see on a conscious level what we see at an unconscious level. So many strange things make sense in our dreams, and then when we wake up and contemplate them, they make ABSOLUTELY no sense.

I kind of like nightmares. Normal life is so much less interesting

Hearing about other people's dreams can often be no where near as interesting as the person telling you believes that it is, so I'm really hoping the images will be a lot better
