I dreamt I ate eggs and a hamburger? It has been a little over a year that I am vegan. WHAT IS GOING ON!? is this guilt? do I really want to eat eggs subconsciously? I even remembered the taste of the hamburger

Has anyone else had such a nightmare?

So weird. I can't think of anything from that day that would have prompted me to have such dreams.

It's called a meatmare. It's sometimes accompanied by guilt, shame, and/or the realization of what you've done right after you've done it in-dream. I figure it's the veg*n equivalent of one of those dreams where you walk into the office without pants on.

I had a meatmare where I was eating these huge worm things, then I realized I should probably stop because they probably weren't vegan.

Yes, I think meatmares are fairly common.

When I quit smoking, I would have dreams that I was smoking and addicted again.

Maybe it is caused by worry?

You have to remember that dreams are the exhaust of the mind's thinking processes. The exhaust put out is relative to what is put in - so if you're worrying about non-vegetarian foods, then that is what your mind puts out. If you're worried about smoking, your mind puts that out too, and if you're not particularly worried about anything at the moment, your mind just pulls things from the back of itself and shapes them into something.

I had one about a week ago where I went into the 7 eleven (a gas station coveniance store) and got a whole bunch of tequitos, cheeseburgers, rib sandwiches, eggsalad sanwitches, hot dogs, nachos, etc. Most of this stuff I never ate when I was an omni, lol. So I woke up and was so grossed out!!!

I have had a few Meatmares and they suck!

I had one where I didn't realize in the dream I was eating something with meat in it and then people in my dream pointed it out and it was horrible! I woke up feeling so horrible!

The last one I had was me eating chicken, not thinking of it at meat and then it dawns on me mid dream and I get so upset. I have woken up crying from those friggin dreams.

Though I am never so relieved as when I wake up and realize it's just a dream

May you be held in compassion.
May your pain and sorrow be eased.
May you be at peace.
