Hey I was wondering if any of you would know why this website would be blocked on a school computer...

I was checking my e-mail today, clicked on the link to the board only to discover it is banned from the schools system.

Any reason for this that you know of???

are all messages boards blocked from your school?

Also, it may run a word scan, and the word "sex" is here, so it may automatically block it to prevent porn sites.

That's the weird part, no other message boards I go to are blocked...and the other ones have a LOT more sexual stuff than here. I'm really considering talking to the principal about this.

There is a minimum age of 13...maybe that has something to do with it? (I'm grasping here)

Nah that can't be it, theres no one under 14(and most of the youngest are 15) at my school so there wouldnt really be a reason to block it.

Well ya know we are extremists here and might spoil young minds by telling them that the status quo is to be questioned. Some of us (PeTA supporters) even have links to domestic terrorists...

Or maybe the reason is just that we're highly addictive

Could be a lot of reasons.... at my last workplace:

porn sites (as in actual actresses) weren't blocked

movie rental places weren't

pay for sex sites weren't

microsoft was

linux was

news agencies were

search engines were

Until they fixed it! Funny... the blocked sites too a few hours for anyone to notice, and I was the one who complained... and there werew over 100 people using the internet that day too...

(Before you people start to think of something... I was in charge of the proxy log [internet history for all users] so I know what people went to!)

It could just be a weird glitch, ip address range block, server (hosting company) name block...

I go to 2 different schools, in 2 different areas town vs. city and both allow you to go to VB w/o any problems!

Have you tried to go around it? Ie: www.ask.com and then type in "Veggieboards" and then click a link? <shhhh, you didn't hear that from me>

Or http://207.44.202.32/boards , although if this works you should talk to the system administrator so he/she/it can get their act together.

It's a militant omnivore conspiracy. They know we're a threat.

I've never tried to go on at my school because if we're on any other site besides research we're booted from the lab. 8X
