Isn't this awful? It hasn't gotten above -4 here today (that's without the wind chill) and we're supposed to get that snow tonight.

I cannot imagine a world with no snow days. That would be like a world without tofu

pah, we got more than that

i went outside to shovel today and good thing the shovel is right beside the door. i had to shovel a path from the door to the steps, then push the snow off each step before i could step down. i just barely made a dent in front of the bottom stair when a wonderful neighbour came over with his snowblower and did my whole driveway

at least it wasn't like the last big snow, the snow was level with the second step and i somehow thought it was level ground and stepped wrong and fell up to my elbows face first in the snow. beautiful.

today the roads into town here were all closed therefore i guess nobody could go open the store i work at, i called 3 times and got no answer. not sure if they closed the whole mall or not. if they'd only let me have a key i could've gone and saved the day i'm the only one who lives in town and knows how to open/close

I'm singin' here to get rid of fear
Hope it disappears right here with the rain

Venture over here and I'll show you what REAL cold weather is like. It was

-30 celsius (not including wind chill) this morning and I've got about 3 feet out snow on my yard. By the side of the house, the snow drifts come up to my shoulders.

OH how I love snow! I love to get all bundled up and just roll around in it! Then when you come indoors and thaw out...what a great feeling! I hope we get snow again soon.

no kidding! i was supposed to go to London today with a friend for wedding stuff, she's getting married in the summer, we were gonna go cake testing and various other girly stuff, she just called to say we're not going anywhere cause her car is buried under several feet of snow. the plow came by and buried her along with 3 other cars, i hope she's exaggerating when she says it'll take 3 or 4 hours to dig it out. now i wish i hadn't already showered and gotten dressed, i could've gone back to bed. warm, comfy, cozy bed

Hehe, I was feeling sorry for myself about today's upcoming storm:

Quote:
... WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT TODAY AND TONIGHT...

SNOW WILL SPREAD INTO THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO ACCUMULATE BETWEEN 3 AND 7 INCHES BY EVENING. THE SNOW WILL THEN MIX WITH SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN IN THE EVENING AND CHANGE OVER TO FREEZING RAIN TOWARDS MIDNIGHT. SIGNIFICANT ICE ACCUMULATION IS POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT WITH THE FREEZING RAIN.

REMEMBER... A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE IMMINENT OR HIGHLY LIKELY.

ANY TRAVEL IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED, AS ROADS WILL QUICKLY BECOME SLIPPERY AND HAZARDOUS.

But after reading everyone else's posts, I feel better! The freezing rain sucks, though. Luckily I don't have to go anywhere today, and I already went to the store.
