I was thinking Valentines day is coming up, and I was wondering if anyone wanted to do a Valentines secret admirer gift swap. I was thinking we could do it like we did Secret Santa.

I would be happy to be Cupid and pair individuals up to swap anything food/or otherwise. I think once again we should have a limit of ohhhh say $10.

If anyone is interested please PM me, and I could get things started We have about 3 weeks to the day, so lets say, we have a cut off day of sign up on Jan. 31st, then I will let everyone know there "friend" is and that will give them a few days to get something together to send off, and reach their secret cupid in time.

lollypop 01-22-2004 09:54 AM

All that will be covered by the individual. I will create a cupid login that would keep us secret, and in a thread I will create we can ask those questions to our individual person. But yes, let me know if you dont mind shipping internationally, and I will keep that in mind when I pair people off.

I plan on doing a random type drawing to pair people off. Put names in a hat kinda deal. I will try to do male/female if I have enough interest from any men in this group. Otherwise, I know us ladies dont mind doing something nice for another gal.

LadyFaile 01-22-2004 12:59 PM

unfortunately i can't afford to but i'd be up for a valentine swap, like just a card. a gift swap would be fun but i just can't justify the cost right now

but let me know if you need help with the organizing

lollypop 01-22-2004 02:13 PM

oh sorry to hear that- i'll send you a card

bunnyfish79 01-22-2004 04:09 PM

Muhahaha, I am in. I will pm you my address.

GhostUser 01-22-2004 04:18 PM

Good idea although it seems like everyone that said they're interested in it here already have valentines in their life. When you say:

Quote:
Valentines secret admirer

Shouldn't that be for the folks who are single? Don't you think your mates will be pissed that you are secretly admiring someone else besides them?

bunnyfish79 01-22-2004 04:26 PM

Lighten up a bit, its just for fun

lollypop 01-22-2004 04:26 PM

its just a bit of fun you know FalafelsRule i think i am going to have to explain to you that females and males can be JUST FRIENDS

JUST KIDDING maybe the single people could be paired up together

bunnyfish79 01-22-2004 05:28 PM

I personally don't care one way or the other.

I don't mind sending something to a female either.

Don't get me wrong, gifts are wonderful.

I admire people I'm not interested in sexually. To me this is like the Secret Santa.

bunnyfish79 01-22-2004 05:42 PM

I second that Marie

I was thinking that we should do a valentine card exchange but this is even better!! Way to go MuzicFan!!

Miss Meg 01-22-2004 06:24 PM

yay for mail

I'm in

Muzicfan 01-22-2004 08:21 PM

Sorry FR, I didnt mean to imply that we are "secret lovers" when we exchange gifts. To me, you can "admire" someone in a friendly manner. And you know what.. if you are secure in your relationship, I dont think that a significant other would be too upset about you getting a harmless valentines day package in the mail from someone on the Internet.

To me, this is just another form of Secret Santa. I enjoy doing something nice for people, and I saw this as an opportunity too. I know for me to receive something in the mail, puts a genuine smile on my face, and I thought it may do that for others as well.

SystmDwnGrl 01-22-2004 08:33 PM

I already told my bf that I was going to get someone on VB a valentine gift an he said.. cool!!! sounds like fun.. what you want to get.. and then we promptly went to look at what was available...

It was my understanding that it was for people to be friendly as well.. not a secret admirer thing...

DirtDiva96 01-23-2004 12:40 AM

That sounds great! It is always nice to get a surprise in the mail from someone who cares.. count me in too!

Muzicfan 01-23-2004 03:34 AM

Ok guys... the ladies seem to be in.. how about you????

1vegan 01-23-2004 03:42 AM
