We've got a thread about avatars. But there are also some pretty interesting usernames on here. What's the story behind yours?
I'll start, although mine's pretty obvious. I wanted something music related, but 'saxophonist' seemed boring so I jazzed it up a bit with a more interesting vowel.

I have a fat cat, a large breed dog, and a boyfriend with a fast metabolism. Somedays I feel like it is my sole purpose in life to make sure these three are fed. However, Lola, the dog, seems to be the loudest whiner at dinner time, so I chose KibbleforLola. Plus, with the Avatar, it seemed fitting.

I'm interested in ancient history and mythology so it seemed a natural choice for me. Andromache (an-DROM-uh-kee) is the name of a mythical Greek character.

A few years ago, I kept hearing the words 'puppet master' being said throughout the day on TV. Plus, I'm a big ATLA fan, and there is an episode where there is a puppet master (who is a blood bender. Tee hee) (which I first saw on that same day). It sounds cool, and has a tone of mystery to it, I think. So I use it.

I've had mine forevverrr! Haha I've always loved Aurora's and its been my dream since I was like 7 to go see one somewhere. There were a lot of other Aurora's out there so I experimented with different words until I got Auroraglare It has also become my raver name!

In modern usage, capstone generally means "crowning achievement" or the final, or topmost stone in a wall or building, but in very ancient times, even before the pyramids, it was a cylindrical stone placed at the apex of a roof; a rope could be thrown over it, so it could be used for hauling up heavy objects. It was the forerunner of the pulley, one of our basic machines, and of the capstan, or windlass, used for raising ship's anchors and for driving magnetic tape through recording devices.
The word, cap, suggests stylishness, as a debonair chapeau, while 'Stan' is a name used by the masculine gender. The phallic connotation is just frosting on the cake.
Why did I choose it? They told me, for security reasons, I shouldn't use my real name.

My old one, rockindancer86, I made when I was 12 I think. And, surprise surprise, I'm a dancer born in 1986. The new name is my nickname in Spanish. My friends in Spain all called me that.

Myria was a character in one of Terry Pratchett's books. I identify with her, and I didn't think she ended too badly (died by jumping into a vat of chocolate). At that point, she was named Unity, but I'm not quite there yet.
