While it was certainly a tragedy what happened to that poor horse, I seriously doubt this will bring about the end of horse racing. Horseracing has been around for centuries, and there are too many people and too much money invested in it to allow it to end. Witness what happened when fox hunting was banned in England.

They definately need to regulate horse racing a lot more than they do. I can't believe the horses are still whipped. You would think people would realize how cruel it is to not only make the horse race down the track, but also to smack it with a whip to make it go faster.
