I don't agree with everything he has to say in this article, but I was surprised at how insightful and positive this article was:
Effective Advocacy: Stealing From the Corporate Playbook by Bruce Friedrich http://www.goveg.com/active/effective-intro.html It is a tiny bit long, but well worth the time Steve |
That's annoying. I can't print it out all at once to carry with me... I'll get to it eventually, I guess.
Thanks. |

Looked. Didn't see it. Printed each section individually anyway and read it later. Good for him. I'd like to hear more AR types take his advice. This has more or less been my evolving stance for a while (read Covey years ago, and I finally got around to Carnegie last winter... good stuff with practical applications in all facets of life, including AR). |
Yeah, it's moot now. But thanks. I'm getting blinder the older I get.

FYI, I believe Bruce Friedrich is Director of Vegan Campaigns at PETA (i.e., responsible for Holocaust on a Plate campaign, etc.) The only reason I bring that up is to show the contrast between duping the media into covering AR for free versus one-on-one / personalized advocacy. As you can see from his article versus his campaigns, we are talking about two very different worlds when dealing with public relations / media versus dealing with potential ARAs one-on-one.
