Okay I go next week for 6-month followup mammogram. I've been told by a couple trusted docs not to worry about it but I sitll do, though I worry a little less since one explained some things to me the other day.

Still though worrying is what I do best so I'd appreciate any prayers and good thoughts. Thanks.

I'm in the boat with you. Just had my yearly, something showed up that they're 'not sure' about so I go back in 6 months for a follow up. I'm pretty good at not sweating stuff until the time comes, so I'm good for now. You've got my prayers/good wishes! Hope everything turns out ok!

Sending good thoughts your way. Six month followup mammograms are done to track worrisome findings and make sure they haven't changed in size and characteristics. If you were asked to return in six months, it's good; your doctor wants to make sure the suspected findings aren't early cancer. I work as a medical transcriber, so I see the results of these mammograms (or rather, I hear them as I transcribe them), and most of them tend to be negative, in which case the patient is cleared to go back to a yearly mammogram schedule.

More good thoughts!

i'm sure everything will turn out fine, try not to worry yourself too much

I'm singin' here to get rid of fear
Hope it disappears right here with the rain
But I know life is pain, not like a fairytale
Meaningless to pray, so just goin' on my way

Yeah, i know all that stuff. Doesn't stop me from being neurotic though. There has been a lot of cancer in my family, breast and otherwise, so I tend to assume the worst.

Karenlovessnow, you will be in my prayers too.
