My diet has gotten a lot better in 2007 but I'm always looking to optimize. I think something very helpful would be a service where you could input all of the foods you've consumed for a period of time and have someone say "You might want to eat less of this, more of that, etc." I realize that this is what nutritionist do but I thinking something more web-based. In addition, it seems like nutritionists often get called in when people are having big problems (e.g., obesity) and might not be as good at optimizing people who already have pretty solid diets.

Any suggestions?

You could try FitDay.com, and take your logs to a nutritionist.

Or do you mean you want an online nutritionist?

Sites like The Daily Plate, FitDay, etc. are great (thanks for the reco by the way!) but I guess I'm looking for something more (probably more like the online nutritionst thing). For me personally, since I've switched to a better diet my main concerns are that I'm not eating enough protein (I'm probably at least 95% vegan in terms of calories consumed) and that I might be eating too much fat (95% of my fat comes from nuts, seeds, flax/hemp oil, avocado, etc. but I'm still concerned that the quantity might be too high).

I'd love to have a place where I could post a list of everything I ate in a given day or week and have someone who understands analyze the list and make suggestions for improvements. Or better yet, maybe a community where I could do this and people could offer different suggestions. Does something like this exist already?

Try Nutritiondata.com. It's not an online nutritionist, but it does have a lot of very handy tools for helping you to figure out what your needs are according to your personal stats. There's also a tracking feature that I use every now and again mostly just to make sure I'm ok on things or to get the nutrient values of a certain recipe.

If you post the past few eating days here, I'm sure someone here can also tell you if you need tightening up or not, but IMO, nutritiondata.com is really your best bet.
