For those lacto ovo vegetarians out there (like me), please remember the science in the China study is not definitive and is controversial. I did some research on the internet and found there is not general consensus on whether caseinate is indeed cancer causing or whether this can be extrapolated to include ALL dairy products. Plus there are many different forms of caseinate out there.
I'm sorry, I know I'm in the minority, but I wasn't very impressed with this book. There is so much information lately about the need for high, good quality protein, be it animal or vegetable. I do not subscribe to the theory that less is better. In fact, my health didn't improve until I started upping the quantity of vegetarian protein that I eat (and this includes dairy).
This is my humble opinion, and no, I won't be answering any "flaming" posts to me! It's just food for thought, that's all.
