is fructose really that bad??

end of post

..no i more mean...if you eat say...a whole stack of fruit..ending up having more sugar than say..pudding , and you disregarded the vitamins from the fruit...and its like 50g v. 9g ...does that mean the pudding would be better? coz its less sugar, and sugar is sugar? or is fructose really actually..better, no matter the quantity difference.

i always assumed it was just a blood sugar thing?

sorry, this has always puzzled me.

the fructose is packaged in nutrient dense fibrous fleshy fruit... (i know this isn't your question).. the refined cane or beet sugar isn't...

i prefer fructose because it's "less sweet" tasting to me (i prefer eating whole fruits to refined sugary sweets)

and.. here is the link and part of the wikipedia definition:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fructose

"Fructose is often recommended for, and consumed by, people with diabetes mellitus or hypoglycemia, because it has a very low Glycemic Index (GI 23) relative to cane sugar (sucrose). However, this benefit is tempered by concern that fructose may have an adverse effect on plasma lipids. The low GI is due to the unique and lengthy metabolic pathway of fructose, which involves phosphorylation and a multi-step enzymatic process in the liver. See health effects and glycation for further informations (source: wikipedia, link above)"
