I am familiar with this diet, as we have a very active macrobiotics group here in Nashville and there is a substantial overlap between their membership and that of my EarthSave chapter. The macrobiotic diet does allow for the eating of small amounts of fish, especially for certain health conditions. But in practice it differs very little from a veg*n diet, but may be a bit more restrictive for people on the "healing" macro diets. BTW, we had a thread on this subject several months ago. |
macrobiotic theory is quite inscientific, and the diet can be quite unhealthy. too much salt and not enough tomato, imho.. haha

E: Yes, Ohsawa claimed that people regain the ability to produce vitamin C, which we cannot, we have to rely on veggies and fruits.
Besides I´d hate the idea of being a pesco-veg*an. |
