Lightbulb Bolthouse Farms -- meal replacement?

Hi! I'm new here and not totally sure where to post about this annnd I thought the health board might seem appropriate so here goes...

Is the Bolthouse Farms beverages okay as a meal replacement? It says it's 3 3/4 servings of fruit per bottle so I was thinking maybe??

Advice?

Hi Tiah,

I would not use this as a complete meal replacement because there are no complex carbs in it (or, not enough) and very little protein. For breakfast I normally don't worry that much about protein - but I do want complex carbs, otherwise I will be starving again in no time.

They are healthy enough, just not meant to be a meal.

Hi Tiah Elaine,
My son loves the bolthouse juices, especially the blueberry and the mixed berry varieties. I don't think it's a meal replacement, but the meal you eat with it can be smaller than usual. Beans and rice, or a potato with lentils, something like that to accompany.

I don't see those Bolthouse Farms drinks as a meal replacement. If you want to drink a meal blend up some whole fruits and veggies and add water for smoothness. Rather than having a meal replacement the smoothie is a meal :-)
