I don't know if this is going to sound like a very stupid question, but is it possible to have an allergy / intolerance to the calcium sulfate used to make tofu? I am asking because when I eat tofu with Nigari as a coagulant, I feel fine, but when I eat tofu with calcium sulfate as a coagulant I feel really nauseous & end up with a very sore stomach. What do you think?

you don't have to have an allergy or intollerance for something to just not sit right in your stomach. i can't eat silken tofu myself, cos it just all goes horribly wrong.
