Wow ... hey ... woah! when did this board get here . Pretty cool

Im in Halifax, Nova Scotia

Astarte 06-01-2003 10:23 PM

I guess I'll post here. Hey, there's a possibility that I may move to Halifax, so then I'd be posting here anyway

GhostUser 06-17-2003 07:54 PM

nice to meet you all. i am a new member. Are all the nova Scotians on this board from Halifax/ soon to be living in Halifax?

rainlily 06-21-2003 12:02 PM

I'm up in pictou county...

dk_art 06-26-2003 10:35 AM

Hey ... more posts :-O ... I must check more often

I think like 1/3 of all people in Nova Scotia are in the Halifax region (something like that)

Astarte 06-27-2003 06:34 PM

Hey, it turns out I *am* moving to Halifax in September! Imagine that. I'll still be going to school in Sackville (NB, not Lower Sackville), but I'll be there for summers and stuff.

Rainlily: Pictou county, eh? I have a friend who lives in Trenton! (that's Pictou County, right?).

rainlily 06-28-2003 10:21 PM

yes it is My brother used to live in trenton...

I'm going to be vacationing on Cape Breton in August, and I can't wait!!!! dk_art, i'm hoping to check out Anna Maria.... i showed my parents your art and they really like it!

dk_art 07-29-2003 11:05 AM

"I'm going to be vacationing on Cape Breton in August"

hey that's great. There's painting's in these shops calle Anna Gloria in Annapolis Royal and one in Lunenburg.

I'm wondering if you are taking the ferry from Bar Harbour ,Maine (oops, guess that's Bar Barbor ;-) ) to Yarmouth NS, or driving through New Brunswick and getting the shorter ferry from St John NB to Digby NS. If you go to Digby, Annapolis Royal is like 30 minute drive away.

If you drive all the way around through New Brusnwick into Nova Scotia, these two places are quite a ways away in the opposite direction from Cape Breton ;-)

msbunnicula 02-25-2004 05:49 PM

I'm in the Halifax area. Any other lurkers from Nova Scotia?

Where does everyone do most of their grocery shopping?

Jessikt 02-27-2004 05:04 PM

Hey! I'm from Halifax aswell

Great Oceans is an awesome place to shop, it's at the top of Quinpool. There's another place on the corner of Agricola and Young Street, I forget what it's called, but it's pretty good too, but it's mainly a supplement type store, but Great Oceans is more of a Grocery Store.

Satisfaction Feast is a YUMMY Veggie Restaurant downtown, I'm not sure of the street name, but I think it's by Blowers Street, close to The Pizza Corner. Try the Carrot Cake

I don't live in N.S., but I vacationed there this summer and fell in love with Lunenburg. The Cabot Trail was amazing, I hope to go back and camp/bike around it. Cheticamp was a neat cultural experience (I felt so weird being one of the few people who didn't speak French) and Halifax seemed like a fun city. There were some very good looking guys up at the Citadel. Anyone go to Dalhousie University? I think it would be so much fun to go to school there in a few years...

msbunnicula 03-12-2004 09:26 AM

Yeah, Great Oceans is pretty much the place to go. I haven't been there since I moved over to Dartmouth though...I've surprizingly never been to Satisfaction Feast. I really do need to go sometime...

salizar 03-13-2004 09:11 PM

Thats so neat that there are so many people on here from Halifax (or around there.)

You should definitely check out Satisfaction Feast, it owns, they have great dhal, veggie burgers, and sadwiches, among other things, it's all good. Heartwood on Quinpool road is also awesome, and pretty much everything they have there is vegan too.

StvSpl 03-17-2004 07:07 AM

i loved cape breton island, but unfortunately never got to halifax or anything.

msbunnicula 04-13-2004 01:14 PM

My birthday is coming up, Iand 'm hoping that someone *nudge, nudge* will take me to Satisfaction Feast. How omni-friendly is Satisfaction Feast?

They've got two really awesome veggie burgers there. My omni friend said that he enjoyed the veggie buger there better than real ones! they've also got nice potato fry type things and nachos and all kinds of junk like that that everyone can enjoy!

msbunnicula 04-14-2004 05:16 PM

Perfect, my bf doesn't mind eating veggie burgers.

superjane 08-26-2004 12:04 AM

hey, I'm from Manitoba, but I want to cycle around Nova Scotia and PEI next summer. Anyone interested in joining me? It will actually be my first cycling trip, so I'm not experienced in that kind of travelling, but I want to do it, even if it takes me a while.

I've been to the maritimes twice before and love the scenery and the people there, so I need to go back soon. If anyone here is a cyclist and wants to travel with me or at least give me some advice about cycling in NS, pm me.

organica 11-08-2004 06:19 AM
