When the shop opens, it will serve up 10 types of sweet cupcakes and one savory treat every day.
The sweet offerings will include vanilla with pina colada, blueberry, chocolate, or cinnamon, and chocolate with chocolate, strawberry, mint, or mocha. On the savory side, in addition to the vegan ham and cheese, Rivers is perfecting shrimp and garlic, and basil and tomato cupcakes.
Rivers plans to take special orders and offer custom decorating. With the all the possible combinations, she said over 300 different kinds of cupcakes will be available.

Awesome! Also, SAVOURY cupcakes? WTF?!

CUPCAKES!

I second the SAVOURY cupcakes, WTF?

I always wonder about people who say they "love" animals, but continue to eat meat. If that's your idea of love, I question what sort of twisted world view you must have.

It would be nice to have a different flavor of vegan cupcakes other than chocolate.

I would imagine the savory ones to be something like a corn muffin type thing..."cupcake" is probably the wrong word because it invokes thoughts of sweetness. One of the recipe sites I have followed in the past has lasagna and taco cupcake recipes. They use wonton wrappers to hold a filling in a cup shape. That's about where the similarities to cupcakes end.

I remember being in Vancouver a few years ago. There was one area that had like 5 cupcake shops in a 2 block radius and not one of them had vegan cupcakes.

That's sad, but I think things are looking better these days. We have Fairy Cakes and Edible Flours and Karmavore that are all vegan and a few random coffee shops and Whole Foods and stuff around that have vegan cupcake options.

That's awesome. Vancouver definitely has some pretty incredible veg*n restaurants. Love Victoria for that too.
