Yo dudes, this part of the forum is totally dead, but I just moved to Montreal and I don't know where all the vegan goodies are! I'm sure I'll come across things as I go along, but I need to make mock tuna. Where can I find veganaise? I live in Verdun, but I will travel for it.

Ta!

Welcome to Montreal! I just moved here last year and have found it to be a bit of a challenge. There is a vegan specialty store, Viva Vegan, on St. Laurent - their website is http://www.vivagranolaveganstore.ca/ and I know they carry Vegenaise. Spectrum vegan mayo can be found at Metro stores - just make sure you check the label carefully since Spectrum also makes non-vegan spreads.

What recipe are you using?

I love the grapeseed veganaise- but- don't want to pay for it!

I use this recipe-
http://vegandad.blogspot.com/2008/08...egan-mayo.html

- 1/2 cup plain soy milk
- 1 1/4 cup safflower oil (any light tasting oil)
- 2 tsp white wine (or any vinegar, or lemon juice)
- pinch of paprika
- 1/2 tsp mustard powder
- 1 1/2 tsp salt (I leave that out)

This lasts at least two weeks in fridge. I add whatever seasonings as I use it.
