Since this is a commercial venture, what happens to the hens when they no longer produce many eggs?
Is it really right to ship the chicks into the inexperienced hands of classrooms of children? Isn't this needlessly endangering the chicks via rough handling, incubator malfunction, improper feeding etc.?
I looked at the website and while I saw many condemnations of factory egg farms, I saw no discussion of what eventually happens to the hens as they advance in age.
slops, gloops, and gruels.
