I was expecting an in-your-face type thing and was going to be against it but I think it was rather respectfully done. Yea, sure, the animals are killed by needles - yea right they checked - and so that makes it OK. I think Beyonce (was that her they showed?) looked very uncomfortable

Actually some animals in the fur industry are killed by needles. And it's actually one of the most painful ways to die, because they inject something toxic (I can't remember what, but it isn't made for euthanasia) and it causes to animal to die slowly and very painfully. I'll get the info in a sec and post it.

She did look uncomfortable.

Good. She should be.

I can definitely see where it would suck to be out eating with family and have people come up to you like this, but you know what? If she would have sworn off fur before then she wouldn't have had to deal with it.

I am a Peta member who thinks that sometimes the methods used are counter-productive, but, all in all, when the ends are justifiable, the ends justify the means.

Awesome!

Feeling uncomfortable when hearing the truth about how animals are treated to acquire fur/dairy/meat is a good thing, IMO. It's a step towards a new mindset.

I was ready to cringe at these people throwing abuse at her, but they were very polite and stated their point well, so I like this, personally And she looked like she wanted the ground to swallow her up!

Wow, I was literally typing that same thing when I saw your post! (Except I saw it on a ticker/scroller at the bottom of a news channel.)

I wonder how high the bid went?

Job well done PETA.

Not sure what she will do in the future, but presenting the facts to her this way may get her to look into the fur industry and the truth and reality behind it.

Couldn't hear/understand what was being said, but the girl in the great shirt looks like her sister. The lady next to her looked like her mom. I didn't see Beyonce in that video at all.

The details of what happened are on a peta2 blog:

http://64.207.144.142/movabletype/PE...ce_gets_a.html

Beyonce was the one looking really uncomfortable and not saying anything.

China, where a large majority of fur comes from. (I'm pretty sure it was the Chinese footage anyways)

Somewhat. They're not all gruesome though.

Are you looking for information on that specific video? Or information on the fur industry as a whole? Because I can get you info without graphic images.

the fur industry. I admit i don't know much detail about it, and I would like to know more about the specifics of what companies use fur from these outfits, etc.

i wonder why the people shooting the video didn't put the animal out of it's misery?

I hate when i stumble on to these videos. I can't deal with them at all.

Because the activist investigators who filmed it would have been caught and their footage wouldn't have made it to the public. It's got to be a rough job as an investigator. You have to act as if it doesn't bother you just so you can film it (since mass awareness is the best way to help animals)...it must be really hard, I can't imagine doing it.

But here are a few links of info:

PETA's Fur Farm Factsheet (no images)

In Defense of Animals' FurKills.org (some photos, but aren't bloody)

some people can take that stuff. i can't, too many years at kill shelters and such. I stopped volunteering at shelters becuase i get very depressed. now i do fundraising, so i don't really have direct contact with the animals (except to play with the kittens from time to time)

thanks.
