My dad still lives in our hometown of Ann Arbor, and saw the coolest cat at the Cat Clinic there last week. He is up for adoption after being found severly injured and having to have one of his rear legs amputated.......and his name is "Lieutentant Dan"!!! LOLOLOL!!!
I think that is so original, and it's bound to help him find a home....who can resist an amputee cat named "Lieutentant Dan"???
I always find pop culture to be so amazing. There will be very few people who dont understand that reference, but if you think about it, its really quite obscure - just a character from a Tom Hanks movie.
A doctor once told me that a friend of hers named her cat Claude Debussy (look it up). Having been raised by classical music lovers, I got it right away.
One of my cats is named Nigel because he looks part Burmese and Burma used to be a British colony so we thought he should have a British name since we didn't know any Burmese (or is it Myanmarese?) names. Talk about a stretch...

Oh my goodness. I love this. Our next door neighbor is called lieutentant Dan. We have it programed into our cell phones. Good for you. A great feeling.
My female tabby's name is Laura Palmer. Cool points to you if you recognize the reference. (That's her in my avatar, by the way.)
My male tabby was named Cheeto by his foster (since he's orange). Since he's had the name for a year, I decided changing his name when I adopted him would be silly.

Mine are Monchichi and Atticus. My other two at my parents house (150 mi away) are Cleo and Pepper. I think its quite obvious at which point I started naming the cats.
