This week's interviewee is Mollycakes! This interview will (theoretically) run from September 1 until September 8.

A reminder on the rules:
-Please ask only a few questions at a time
-At the end of the week, mollycakes will choose the next interviewee from those who asked her questions.

Some facts to get her started:
Quote:
-Real first name (if you are comfortable sharing): Molly

-Age: 32

-Sex/Gender Identity: Woo personal question. Yes sex.

-Relationship status: Married

-Location (as specific as you are comfortable being) Buffalo, NY

-Religious beliefs (or lack thereof): lack thereof

-Political leanings: Sigh. I thought I had it figured out. The more I learn, the more I need to pack my bags. I don't trust anyone that holds office anymore.

-Are you a vegetarian or vegan (or something else)? new vegan. I was veggie for a long time, I have no memory of when I started, but recently stepped over to join you fancy nice folks in vegan world

-What is the meaning behind your username? My friend Monica calls me that because of the cupcakes that I used to make all the time. It stuck as my username at a couple places

-Have you ever met anyone famous? Richard Simmons took a hot dog away from me when I was a child (smart man). I met Marc Summers from Double Dare once, Alanis Morisette. Shirley Mansion, Jenna Jameson, Ron Jeremy, Hilary Clinton. I don't know if this counts, but I dated a drummer from a famous metal band and I was touring all over with him. We are good friends now- I can't disclose his name our relationship was always a secret.

-Do you live with any companion animals? 2 wiener dogs! Ruby and Rita.

-Where is your favorite place that you have visited? Pulau Langkawi, Malaysia
-What do you enjoy most about being veg*n? how easy it is to make things "veganized" and knock peoples socks off.

-With whom would you most love to have dinner? Artie Lange- I have a lot to ask him. Mila Kiunis- because she's hot and maybe I can get her drunk enough to........

-Do you have any secret talents? That are appropriate?

-What dish/recipe can you make that knocks people's socks off? So far- at a moms lunch- I brought shelled pasta with farmers market sweet fresh corn cut and chopped basil and olive oil, it did knock their socks off!
Before being vegan I made people die and go to heaven with my baking. I hosted Thanksgiving and Easter and cooked everything. I'm going to have to start from scratch and build confidence again.

-What's your favorite restaurant? Merge- I went there last Saturday. They serve vegan, vegetarian, raw, and meat dishes. So you can eat there with your meat and potatoes dad and he can see how great vegan tastes.

-What do you do to cheer yourself up when you're feeling blue? Play with my kids. We put new pop music on and dance around in my family room. We have a dance party.

-What's your biggest cooking/baking disaster? I used chili powder instead of cinnamon once....

-What's the one food/product, that you'd love to "veg*nize"? Roti Canai (a stall dish found in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore) - Its the one thing I am nervous about caving for if I ever come across it someday!

If you could communicate with (meaning they understand you and you understand them) any animal, which would it be?

What was the first vegan meal you tried?

Is an invitation required to attend the awesome veg*n thanksgiving?

Do you use a picture of yourself on facebook, or a picture of an animal?

Have you ever gone swimming at a waterfall?

If you could only keep 5 books, which would you keep?

S'mores cupcakes seemed to be a real winner- I am going to have to work on veganizing them!

Not really fun being his girlfriend (I was his girlfriend- we dated in my early 20's). It just got old. He was gone all the time, or I was going with him to a bunch of cities when I got off work for a while, and I hung out in the hotel all day while they rehearsed. I once spent a week with him while he was recording and I was so bored! I am not the jealous type- but there were girls throwing themselves at him and it was annoying. We broke up for a couple years, actually got back together again for a bit and then broke it off again. Then I married my husband and had kids!

Even if you fall on your face, you're still moving forward.

Hmmm. I went cold turkey one day. But I ate vegan things before that. Its fuzzy- I don't know. I remember being in awe of a vegan wedding I attended about 3 years ago. It was a full spread of food- bbq seitan "chicken", tofu and pasta, vegan chocolate wedding cake, and more- I was impressed and told everyone I knew how tasty it was.

Of course not! Sigh. I have no idea what to do this year. I would love to have enthusiastic vegans at my table. Instead I will have some angry omnivores looking for a turkey.

It was my son placing a bucket on my daughters head, I just changed it to me and my husband in Aruba.

These are great questions because you have me scratching my head. I would like to think I am. I think I try to hard to be happy instead of just relaxing and being

When I am playing with my kids. Watching my kids sleep. When I felt my kids moving around in my belly when I was pregnant. Cooking. Traveling. Snuggling with my hubby. When I get at least 7 hours sleep.

Sleep more.
And stop trying so hard to be happy. Stop trying so hard to obtain the "thing" that will make me happy.

I deck out my house. I get super excited and get/ make my kids costumes really early on. I begin baking bread every day when it gets cooler out. I have an amazing Thanksgiving spread- linens, china, centerpieces, etc. I map out my Christmas baking and begin it earlier than Thanksgiving

In three words or less, what's Catcher In The Rye about?

Do you think the moon landings were faked?

Do you think the International Space Station is real?

Ever been to Oklahoma?

Also, last month I visited the dentist, and my dental hygienist and dentist couldn't say enough good things about my teeth and gums. The only thing I changed from my previous visit six months earlier was my diet, from omni to veggie. In your experience, is that normal?

Can you find buffaloes in Buffalo?

Could you fill in the blanks in the following statement? "King Ramses: the _ in _!"

Do you have a chimney?

What is the most embarrassing experience you've ever had involving music?

I think diet has everything to do with overall oral health, a diet rich in calcium, vitamin c and d is great. Most vegetarians are generally healthy (eat better food) so they seem to have better overall oral health. People who thrive on junk food tend to have more cavities and periodontal disease. It is the same with the rest of your body- if your lifestyle is healthy, your body is healthy.
I don't think it makes a difference meat vs non meat, with regards to your mouth, but meat is generally unhealthy in its preparations (fried, breaded, etc...) so that can contribute to overall poorer health.

Even if you fall on your face, you're still moving forward.
