I want to make a funny/scary pre-halloween dinner for the kiddos tonight, but am lacking in ideas.... Does anyone know of any gross looking/fun foods I could serve?

Steak?

That lacks the fun quality though.

You know that Halloween game where you have everyone close their eyes, and you pass around food and things and say that they're body parts? (For example, dried apricot is an ear, spaghetti is intestines, grapes are eyes, etc.) You could do something along those lines... There's a game that goes along with that that I'm sure you can find through Google I'd look but I have to leave for school now.

Tell us what you end up doing!

My mum works in a school kitchen. She says for lunch today that are cutting out slices of bread in the shape of bats, toasted them and floating them on top of tomato soup. She also mentioned something about broomstick shaped cookies.

How about pan de los muertos? I made a garlic version for a friend's Hallowe'en party a couple of years ago, since we were all going to be sugared out anyways. Here's some vegan recipes from the same site. I hope this helps, and I hope you have a very happy hallowe'en.

Anytime I think I'm perfect, I remember that my cousin lives on an island, and I've never walked over to visit her.

Crunchy fingers. Cut the crusts off bread, put broken crisps on and roll it up. Can add ketchup for blood if you wish. I had them at a halloween party years ago. Now I want a crisp sandwich. I don't remember much of what else we ate, other than "broken bones" which was just a bag of odd broken biscuits.
