i figured the holiday forum was best since it's about thanksgiving, but feel free to move if it's not in the right area.

so, thanksgiving is getting closer and i thought i'd post this now so people could get a head start on participating with this. last year was my first year and i donated pretty close to the day and didn't get the adoption picture and info until after the holiday. i had wanted to take it with me when i visited family.

i think i'll be doing the adopt-a-turkey project for as long as farm sanctuary has it.

For a one-time donation of just $25 per turkey sponsorship, well send you, your friends or family members a special Adopt-A-Turkey certificate complete with color photo of and fun details about the turkey you choose.

Since 1986, our Adopt-A-Turkey Project has saved countless innocent turkeys, and given thousands of people an opportunity to treat them with compassion. Sponsorships not only help us care for the rescued residents at our shelters, but also enable us to educate and advocate for turkeys and other farm animals everywhere.

I am adopting my first turkey this year.

I'm so excited! I'm making a giant vegan feast too.

Also, this adorable video of turkeys getting a thanksgiving feast at Farm Sanctuary always gives me a big happy!

Yay! The more turkeys that get adopted this year the better, it's a new tradition for me.

I just got my sponsorship stuff in the mail today!!! It's so exciting, I'm considering putting it on the fridge.

I got an adoption certificate with a picture of Mello and some info, and a really cool Farm Sanctuary newsletter that has a lot of awesome inspiring stories and photos. I'd highly recommend this as a gift, I'm considering sponsoring a few turkeys as Christmas presents this year.
