Yeah I had their cheesecake for dessert. It was the best damn vegan cake I've ever had.

God loved birds, he created trees.
Man loved birds, he created cages.

Bliss Cafe in Adelaide. I can see why this place won an award. The food is really nice. Although, asking 14 bucks for the burgers is pretty bloody cheeky if you ask me, but there's a lot of other meals on the menu that are more reasonably priced. I think vegan food in general in most cities in Australia is ridicuously over-priced.

Ooh...since I last posted, I had brunch at Naked Espresso (also known as 'Basil Pizza' most times ).
http://www.cafenaked.com

I had this:
Scrambled Tofu Feast (gluten-free available)

Spiced Scrambled Tofu with Baby Spinach, Home Cooked Baked Beans (with a bit of a pasta sauce/salsa tang to it), Roasted Pumpkin, Sauteed
Mushrooms, Hashbrowns, with two slices of Organic Sourdough OR Gluten-Free Toast.

Not sure what toast I had, but the mushrooms were possibly the best I've ever had, the hashbrowns REALLY hit the spot, and the bread was spot on. I can't explain it, so you might just have to try it. Helpful staff, and if you time it right you can go to the vegan bake sale just up the road

I just recently returned from a another trip to Melbourne which has reinforced my opinion that the city is one of THE best places in the world for vegan food! There are some seriously wicked food options there- the more you visit, the more you discover - My boyfriend and I had a blast eating our way around the city, visiting everything from cheap, pokey, hippy cafes to the more upscale restaurants. It would take too long to list all the great places to eat but I will give a special mention to Shakahari and Enlightened cuisine for awesome food and service.

I'm really looking forward to getting back there again ASAP.

Well, hippies have to be useful for something don't they! Nah, not really man, we deserted everyone last weekend, it was sort of a postponed valentine's thing.

How funny is that dude! I was pissing myself reading it on Thurs night. It's uncanny how accurate he is. I actually had to ask K if he was secretly feeding him the lines cos I couldn't believe it was really the same guy.

I didn't know your bf that well at the time so i didn't even think it might be him behind it. i only realized after hearing that dude's voice in the 'what's your accent' thread. it was a pretty frikken good effort but there were just a couple of words that he was saying that sounded slightly weird and after that i sussed it. Hopefully he
will be able to come out for the meet-up, eh?

I'm an avid pizza lover, and James Dean Pizza bar (http://jamesdeangourmetpizza.com.au/) in Sydney does some amazing vegan pizzas, also some good gluten free and vegetarian. So they're not offically a vegan restaurant, but do a mean vegan pizza. I recommend for anyone in Sydney :)

Where is this other vegan pizza place mentioned above? Basil Pizza, are they in Sydney too?
