I thought egg beaters was an egg substitute, but it's make with eggs. Do they have such a thing that's vegan? I was at Price Chopper last night and didn't see any.

What are you looking to use it for? Cooking? Baking? Quiche?

There are many threads on egg substitutes. It depends on what you need them to substitute for.

Primarily for cooking, like "fried eggs" or something. less so for baking.

Do a search on 'Tofu Scramble'. Its one of the most popular breakfasts for vegans. Its like scrambled eggs. Lots of recipes for it on this board.

apparently if you bake an apple in the oven (where else?) you can use it as an egg replacer in baking and whatnot.

otherwise, in australia there is a produtc, norgran which is all vegan and they have an egg-replacer. i think it's called 'no-egg' but i could be wrong. it goes alright

Since I now have relatives that are allergic to eggs, soy, corn, etc, I have been doing a lot of research and testing (I love to cook).  I was appalled at how many egg substitutes were nothing more than eggs, and lets face it, applesauce only goes so far.  I have just recently come across these (no I have not tested yet, but they say...)

  1. Bob's Red Mill Egg Replacer
  2. EnerG Egg Replacer
  3. Pane Riso
  4. Orgran No Egg

From what I can see it is via potato and tapioca mixtures.  They also seem to hold the equivalent of 100 eggs or more.  Hope this helps.
