Women who consumed the highest amounts of soy in childhood had 58 percent less risk of breast cancer compared with those in the lowest groups.

The effect was weaker when adolescents or adults ate or drank a lot of soy, but the study still found a 20 to 25 percent reduction in risk.

The relationship between childhood soy consumption and reduced cancer risk held for all women in the study, regardless of family history of breast cancer.

I'm not really a big fan of nutrition studies, but because soy is so often demonized lately I thought I'd throw this one into the mix

I get excited with every hopeful soy news story, although I know there's no way that I will stop drinking the nearly a half gallon of soymilk I do a day unless it causes some horrible incurable skin disease that makes my skin slough off to the point all my viscera are exposed and I die from invading viruses/bacteria.
