I'm not sure if this has been posted before. I tried to search for it but didn't find anything.

How do you respond to the argument that the farming that goes on to contribute to veggie food (I'm not sure if it's in reference to fake meat food or just veggies in general) causes the deaths of a lot of animals?

Quoting myself:

Quote:
I realize that by being a part of Western society, my lifestyle is harmful, even violent. The central point of my veganism is the embodiment of a rejection of treating sentient beings as commodities, as means to an end. I believe that were this rejection more popular, and were the cultural status of non-humans thus beyond that of a commodity, such issues as the use of pesticides or the collateral deaths of animals in fields would either go away or be significantly reduced.
