They opened one near my work and they have a sign out front announcing a new portobello mushroom sub. I am going there on lunch today. My prayers have been answered.

If I'm wrong and there is a god, this is by far the best evidence I've seen

The title is "There is a God or Quizno's has a new Portobello Mushroom Sub"

You get one or the other. You can't have both. I don't get the title.

I figured that the title was a typo since the title doesn't make sense as is. If i have to choose, I'll take the sub every single time.

I assumed it was like a title and subtitle like "There is a God: Quizno's has a new Portabello Mushroom Sub"

It's probably covered in cheese or marinated in meat :P

Perhaps he was so excited he couldn't type properly.

I think the title is supposed to be an old-fashioned subtitle. Like The Hobbit, or There and Back Again.

I checked the website and that sub isn't on there yet.

If it's too good to be true....

I walk in and order the Portobello Mushroom Sub.

"Chicken or Beef?"

Me: "huh?"

"It comes with your choice of meat. Chicken or beef."

"Can I have it with no meat?"

They look at me like someone just took a **** in their morning coffee. One of them runs to the manager.

"He wants a Portobello Mushroom with no meat."

The Manager: "He can have one. It's a free country. But he has to pay the same price."

If you know Quizno's prices then you know I ain't paying the "same price."

To end the story. Lunch is the veggie sub with extra mushrooms. Not of the portobello variety.

Sorry for the title confusion. Meant in the same spirit as Dr.Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.

I don't eat at Quizno's much since their sandwiches are so unhealthy. Usually I only eat subs when I want to eat healthy so I go to Subway. But this sounds goood. Big mushroom fan.

They don't have it listed on their website...

And a Google search really just turns up this page.

I've never been able to go into Quizno's. The only one I know of smells like sewage. Last time I tried to go there I actually wished it smelled like meat instead. So I'm glad this is untrue; I don't need to go try their portobello sewage sub now.

I drove by 3 of them today on my way to work, and my son had lunch at one today on his way to work...but I didn't see this post, so I didn't look. Maybe tomorrow on my errands I will stop and try one.....or not, depending on my mood.

It does sound good though...maybe I will go in and see if I can **** in someone's coffee LOL

Does that sub have onions on it? I went to a Quiznos near me thinking I could get a great sub, and they wouldn't even let me pick and choose what to put on the sub! D: I could'nt even request no onions!

I'm a subway customer for my subs. ^^

OR implies either one, the other, or both. You're thinking of an exclusive or (XOR).

Weird. They've always let me choose on my subs.

I had that happen to me too the ONE time I went to a Quizno's. I ordered a sub and was expecting him to ask me what I wanted on it, and then I noticed he had just gone ahead and started making it. So I panicked and asked what exactly he was putting on there....I was just used to the people at Subway asking me what toppings I wanted.

I think I'll continue to believe in God, since the chances of an edible, delicious meat-free-cheese-free sub at Quizno's are pretty far fetched.

Well, the best I've gotten so far is a sub at subway with no meat or cheese on whole wheat. I like having it, especially when I don't really feel like fixing something elaborate. But, I really like having at least one place I can go.

Well, I was going to stop yesterday....but ended up at Subway anyways. I always did prefer Subway, so I guess this will remain a mystery to me for sometime to come

I've never been really impressed with Quizno's. While I hated Subway for the longest time after going veg, I LOVE it now. The Sweet Onion sauce was DEFINATELY made by God... no human could have made something SO GOOD!

I am surprised how pro Subway everywhere here is! I am usually always disappointed (as a vegan). I may not be up to date, but it used to be that you had to order their white/italian bun because their whole wheat had honey in it? Granted, I just get veggies/mustard on a bun when I end up going there (as there's nothing else that I know of there except chips and soda...). I'll only eat there if I'm starving..

I used to be so anti-Subway, no joke. If it weren't for the sweet onion sauce, I wouldn't go. It's bland otherwise.

This is my vegan sub:

Italian bread (6 inches), mustard, lettuce, tomato, extra extra pickles, olives, pepper, and wweet onion sauce (sometimes avocado, if it's ripe).

Oh I SOOOOOO agree with this! I cannot stand Subway. The ones here don't have avocado anyway, and the only other options are salad vegetables and white bread.

Ok, you know, I'll try that out exactly next time and think of you as I eat it. I have never tried the sweet onion sauce.. maybe they don't even have it here. They don't have the avocado.. that would be major points for them if they did! I hear some of them have a veggie pattie of sorts that's not bad (vegetarian I believe).
