I live in southern WV and the attitude here is: Steak or bust! In my local supermarket (the biggest chain in this part of the state), the selection of vegetables/grains is almost nill. The tofu is always expired (or a day away from expiration). As for vegies, I have yet to see an eggplant or anything "exotic" on the shelves. (The best I can hope for is spinach and cucumbers.) The only grain in the place is rice. Barley, couscous, anything remotely unusual is not stocked. And, of course, there are no health food stores in the area. I'd love to try some new recipes that require foods unavailable to me (though I suspect they're readily available in larger cities--the closest city to me is more than an hour away). Any suggestions for mail order sources?
