Well, I just wanted to say that as a vegan I don't condemn any vegetarian for their choices of what they eat. I'm sure some vegans do and some have, but those, I think, (and hope) are a minority.

So I'd just like to apologize for those who have condemned you as well as when you feel like you've been condemned and I'd like to say good job for all that you've done so far.

I believe everything.

that feels good, because I wouldn't say I condemn meat-eaters, but I do think a little less of them, and I was wondering if vegans felt the same about Vegetarians, but I guess some do and some don't/ Thanks for bringing it up

peace

Your name has been entered into the official register of Not Narky Vegans which is a secret online database accessible by vegetarians everywhere.

Thank you nogardsram!

Sometimes it kind of feels like vegetarians are stuck in the middle. Vegans look down on us for not giving up all animal products, meat eaters look down on us for not eating meat.

After having been abused today for not eating meat, I feel slightly uplifted...

Thanks for putting that out there and sharing your love and peace, im veg*n in that i still do dairy and eggs but i dont use any animal derivates i.e leather or animal products like that and i feel very strongly about these issues, i have so much respect for you to be able to think so laterally and peacefully as i very much struggle to be tolerant to others sometimes who dont get it, but with all fairness i dont really like being critised for still eating yoghurt and eggs. Kudos to you for your well wishes, its made me stop and reflect on my own tolerance for today!!!!

I'm a meat eater wanting to become a vegetarian (got to get the OK from my hormone doctor first). I don't look down on you for not eating meat. I think it's great.

I just sit here reading the posts. I don't say alot. I do take advantage of the recipes though. I love to cook.

there was a short sketch from the frost report('60s), with John Cleese, about the class structure, which I was reminded of.

You could replace the working class person with a vegetarian and the middle class person with the omnivore and the vegan with the upper class person. Or it could work in other combination...

Quote:
The Frost Report. Cleese: (looking down) I look down on him because I am upper class. Barker: (looking up) I look up to him because he is upper class, (looking down) but I look down to him because he is lower class. (looking straight) I am middle class. Corbett: I know my place. Cleese: (looking down) I get a feeling of superiority over them. Barker: (looking up) I get a feeling of inferiority from him but a (looking down) feeling of superiority over him. Corbett: (looking up) I get a pain in the back of my neck.

eta: or maybe John Cleese should represent the omni, after all, they are the superior beings....

You may want to get Froggy's free hugs, but here is what I am offering for only 5 bucks: first a warm handshake (I stick my hand in a toaster for that), then a wet kiss on the cheek and after that, depending on your mood and my energy, we can do something in the bushes nearby. All this for only 5 bucks.

Oh, and to all vegetarians for having eliminated meat from their diet.

So, 5 bucks, huh? What can you do for 10?

This is a great post, and a nice reminder that we're mostly all here for support and encouragement. I've "met" some very kind and generous people on VB, and I'm proud to belong.

Right, we vegans and vegetarians should stick to hating omnis.

Or maybe vegans should have a mild dislike of vegetarians, vegetarians should have a mild dislike of omnis. Then vegans can take their mild dislike of vegetarians and add the vegetarian mild dislike of omnis and turn that into a hate of omnis.

You don't present as a person who is peaceful towards vegetarians so I don't really understand why you bothered coming into a vegetarian support thread especially when you made no attempt to actually declare any peace or show support unlike the other posters.

That never happens around here.

Actually, I'm being serious. Sometimes truly funny things on VB make me laugh aloud spontaneously, but I never get down on the floor to roll about it, with or without snorting and side-clutching.
