A lot of the places that deliver organics are CSAs, which are local. A farm or a coop of farms just outside the community grow the produce, then workers and/or volunteers harvest, box, and deliver the produce. This actually burns a lot less fuel than being in Albuquerque, buying grapes from Chile and buying tomatoes from California. However, during the winter season, the produce might come from other places. In that case, the produce is still better than what you get at the grocery store: it's fresher, hasn't been set in a ripening room for weeks, and it's organic.
