I'm a user of Lush shampoo and conditioner, but I am still using a L'oreal hair product for styling (Their ethics are questionable, aren't they? If not, this thead is defunct). Lush don't sell anything in the line of hair styling products that I want and I'm not really sure of what brands don't use or test on animals. I currently use L'oreal Out of Bed and it creates the perfect look. Anyone know of a similar product that'll create a similar look? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I usually use shi kai, giovanni or aveda products. I've never seen L'oreal's Out of Bed stuff, but it sounds like it might be similar to TIGI's Bedhead stuff.

This is entirely a guess, but I would say it's OK.

Oftentimes, those hair products are so unnatural and chemically engineered that there's nothing resembling a plant OR animal in there.

According to PETA, http://www.caringconsumer.com/searchcompany.asp L'oreal does test on animals.

Loreal does test on animals, as far as I know. The reason this came to my attention is because recently The Body Shop sold it's company to Loreal, claiming their partnership would do good things for both companies. But The Body Shop has a strict non-animal testing policy, which has caused debate and has upset the majority of it's customers because Loreal does test on animals, therefore future collabortions between the two companies could have potentially been tested on animals. Loreal released a statement saying that for the time being they are not stopping the testing, but they have plans to do so in the future.

Giovanni is an organic line that is the BEST! It's a great company and I love all the products. Have a look around; If you have a wholefoods around you can likely find them.

I believe TIGI Bed Head, Citre Shine, Paul Mitchell, and gotobe are all untested and vegan.

Oops! Sorry about that. You know what, I think I confused the fact that the TIGI product I have is vegan, and somehow thought they all were.

Honey, this thread is from 2006. I'm sure a lot has changed in that time. Not L'Oreal, though, they still test on animals last I heard.
