I was always a big farter (a family trait), but since going vegan and giving up dairy my farting has substantially decreased to the point that I don't fart all that much now. I suspect it was dairy all along that made me "windier" than average my whole life. My omni bf, one the other hand, is an extraordinary farter, or as we like to say, he "gets the winds something fierce!" (It's best if you say that in an "old codger" type voice.)
Farting is a sign of health. I still ROFL when I hear one too.
No, I simply am a wild-man.
I have just increased my intake of beans, at the end of the month, and therefore eating crockpot paellas, that have made my ass very potent, does my body get used to this change, i have ben a vegetarian nearly 2 years, and have never seen this before, they are awful , though so i very much hope they stop!
It depends how stuff is prepared.
Canned beans or beans just soaked a hour or two and cooked give me gas but I soak beans for 8 hours, drain, and let germinate for 16 hours before cooking. That greatly reduces the effect. Split peas give me gas, I suppose I should treat those the same. Raw cabbage does, but well fermented cabbage doesnt. Raw onion does, but I wont give up raw onion
Theres a joke that when a jogger passes by you can tell if theyre veg*n by the sound alone, but what you eat and how you make it can change the amount of gas ten fold.
...Wouldnt vegetarian paella simply be beans n rice with greens? Or is imitation rabbit and snails in markets now? Leave out tofu-snails and mock-wabbit and I eat vegan paella all the time, little gas until I pile on the raw onion.
I do my fair share of breaking wind, but my farts no longer smell like manure!

Just curious... how do you know this?
