well its not exactly meat, but i dont eat it, cos in my chemistry lessons i heard that its made from like fossilized shell fish.
|
^^^ its also made from chalk. from chalk mines. i dunno if these long dead fish are really upset about being mined, any more than the dead dinosaurs are upset about being petrol and plastic.

![]() Calcium carbonate is a mineral (also known as chalk) which is mined from the earth and can be found in your calcium supplements, agricultural lime, tofu, Silk soymilk, as well as most other calcium-fortified products you find on the market today. It is also the primary mineral found in hard tap water. Do not fear the CaCo3! The dead fishies really don't mind. Honestly. Dig |
^^^ Chalk is made from coccolithophores, which are protists, and therefore neither plant nor animal. Foraminifera also compose a substantial quantity of limestone deposits, and they also protists too.
I don't have a problem with using fossilized animal remains though. I give my animals a supplement made from fossilized coral calcium. Its that or bone meal, and I don't want to use bone meal made from modern animals. |
