I was thinking about whether I'd do this or not, and I think it really depends on my chances of winning. Thoughts?

I couldn't handle that. Especially swimming in blood; how many animals would need to be killed for that? *shudders*

I wouldn't go on fear factor because I hate the feeling of falling. I don't even like rollar costers.

I hate that show for the animal stuff. Eating insects alive is horrible for one and then when they pour live mice, rats, snakes, etc how stressful that must be for those animals

I be able to do a lot of that stuff. I wouldn't be too thrilled about being involved in cruelty to animals, though.

That attitude really sounds like the same attitude a person has, if they have a morally corrupt job, "it's just my job" "well atleast I get paid for it".

I think it's pretty weak of a person who has moral convictions to throw them aside for personal gain. But if you have no moral problems with it then go ahead. But no, I wouldn't do it myself.

Anyway, I hate all that 'reality' tv... I stopped watching tv over a year or so ago because it was just decending into 'reality' tv crap.

did you know that the things that contestants on fear factor are asked to consume are considered a delicacy SOMEWHERE in the world?

I am plenty materialistic to want the money really, really badly...but there is no way I would do any of the freaky crap they do on that show. It makes me sick that people even want to watch it.

They aren't allowed to use blood in Fear Factor anymore.

And they didn't swim in it, they had to get rings from the bottom of a blood tank (with their teeth).

I'd also like to note, I hate Fear Factor with a passion and I'd never do that crap.

Well beef is considered food here... I thought this was more about would you do it even if it goes against your moral... not would you do it because it's gross.

Reality TV sucks, but the masses love it.

I've never actually seen the show, I was just going by the poll options. I don't watch reality tv in general, but I keep hearing things about it, like episodes involving blenders and rats, etc. Yikes.

But that's good that they're not allowed to use blood anymore.

Seconded. I agree, too. That show sucks big time, and some of the stuff on it is so beyond nasty I can't put it into words. I believe the episode I saw where contestants were eating penises from various animals was probably the last episode I ever watched. And I didn't watch many.

You don't get much money on Fear Factor. $50k. So no.

But I'd definetely do it on Survivor for a chance at the million. I think Survivor would be a cool experience anyways.

i started boycotting that show when they started to mutilate/kill live insects in blenders. i wish they could do the gross stuff without having to harm animals or use animal products.

You make an interesting point, because when you think about it, is there much that they could use that would be as gross as animal stuff? Drinking a quart of rotten eggs mixed with bile, etc. can't be beat by any chemical or veg food I can think of.

I could never do it for my personal gain...my chances of winning mean money I could donate to helping animals. But yeah...I can't really think of anything gross that is vegan!! Rancid soymilk? But they can't do something unhealthy like that...hmm...I have no idea!

Never - there just isn't enough money in the world. The only scenario that moves the meter at all is some kind of bizzare situation where my families very life depended on it.

It would make absolutely no sense to do the things they do on that show and donate the money to animal causes. Doesn't that strike you as just a bit hypocritical? The animals that it would benefit are any more deserving than the one's that had been dessicrated?

That show is so morally bankrupt not to mention so beyond gross!
