If you are in the Seattle area on the weekend of March 12th and 13th, plan to attend VegFest! It's awesome!!

It is a great event, very inexpensive (admission: Adults - $5, Kids 12 and under - Free; tickets available at the door), with loads of free workshops, speakers and tastings!

It takes place at 10am - 6pm at the Seattle Center Fisher Pavilion.

We go every year and is it FUN, and I get tons of great recipes, coupons and ideas...

I think Brianna Clark Grogan will be signing her new cookbook there too...

Hey Tofu n Sprouts!

We live in Lynnwood and we went to VegFest for the first time last year. We had such a good time! My husband saw a cooking demonstration for a tofu-chocolate cream pie, and he's been making it for me on occasion ever since...yummy!

Here's a tip from our experience last year. We went on Sunday afternoon, and about 30 minutes before they closed it down, they put all the freezer/refrigerator stuff on sale for $1/item! It was a great deal...they had all kinds of soy delicious flavors, veggieburgers, hummus, etc. and $1 an item is a really amazing price! We are definitely going to go on Sunday again to take advantage of that!

Oh, another tip for newcomers. Go hungry! There's such an endless amount of food there, you can easily make one or two, or three meals out of it (depending on how long you stay).

I'm so excited! I didn't realize how soon that was coming up!

I don't think so... I subscribe to her newsletter, the Vegan Feast, and haven't heard anything to that effect.

I can't believe how cheap VegFest is! I wish I lived near Seattle!

ohhh... ok, maybe not a new cookbook. Sorry. I just read "cookbook signing" and inserted "new" in my own wishful thinking...

I live in the Lynnwood area, and I am hoping to go. I didn't go last year, so it'll be a new experience for me. How many people usually show up?

I went last year, it was a lot of fun! I went on Saturday last year, but I may have to go on Sunday this year, and see if I can snag some of those $1 freezer/fridge items. Atterdag, I don't know how many people exactly, but there were A LOT. Like maybe 400 when it was in full swing in midafternoon. Its exciting to have so many like minded people in a room at the same time. Its also great to actually be able to sample everything without asking a million questions.

I saw a poster for VegFest at Mayuri in early 2003, and joined VegOfWA at the event, with the result of a free compartmented durable shopping bag containing $35 worth of freebies. I'm signed up to work the whole event this year, and would be delighted to meet VB's. I look like this from the back and will try to wear my green Go Vegan button.

woohoo. That time again.

I went last year for the first time and it was the bomb. Lots of free food and even more food ideas. Skip breakfast and go early!
