www.commondreams.org is an interesting site. It has it's own google which gets up different, interesting stuff.

You people might have known all this stuff but I found it interesting and maybe someone else will too. This larely addresses the environmental issue alone, which is good enough reason to be Vegan.

One point I found interesting is that cattle are often fed with fishmeal. Talk about a trace element in your cheese.

broke my heart reading that.

feeding animals for people to eat means that so many people must go hungry.

with this in mind, I don't know how anyone can claim to care about world hunger and not be vegan.

That's a really interesting article.

I think it would be nice if everyone could cut down on eating meat, dairy and eggs. They wouldn't even have to cut it out completely, just cut down by even 25%, and it would help them and the environment (and the animals, of course).

So many people are becoming aware of their actions & consequences nowadays- I have hope for our future! It is all supply & demand so if we get the knowledge out things are sure to change!

argh.. i can imagine what this planet COULD have been.. if we only had been smart in the beginning. ppl are such pathetic creatures of habit, and if it was done yesterday its the right thing to do, no matter what. ever. i pray to anything that one day we will be smarter, but i think we will have to be faced with an obvious and blatant enemy; one that will threaten our lives directly.. as we already know if its behind one corner, or just a flimsy sheet, almost all people will disregard it.

that avian flu thing has me really scared...

they've predicted that if this epidemic spreads to humans, it could kill 50 million people...

all because people can't break their addiction to eating animals.

Hey! Awesome article. A good one to share with skeptics... From the point of view of an omnivore, and very non-biased, yet appeals to the heart/mind.

I want to frame that beautiful thing...

I sent a copy to my mother, who is somehow of the opinion that human problems and animal problems are not related.

cool article.

.. but tis sad when he says that its okay to eat them on special occasins- like chritmas. i suppose COMPLETE veganism isnt really a realistic goal because peoplewill still not want to go along with it - a lot of peple just dont care... but it'd be nice.
