7-time Canadian national skating champion is vegan

Meagan Duhamel, seven-time Canadian national champion figure skater, has been vegan since 2008.

She is currently competing in the 2018 Olympics: https://www.olympic.org/pyeongchang-...an-duhamel.htm

You're not kidding--those ARMS!!

Thanks for the info. I'm always glad to hear when someone of athletic prominence is vegan or vegetarian--it makes those naysayers have to think twice, you know?

She is awesome.

She actually won Bronze, but had a goal of just getting on the podium, which she did.

The other two medals she has are from previous olympics.

She did win the bronze in her event. but she also won a gold as part of the Canadian team.

I tried to count them up but I kept losing track. I think she has at least 20 gold medals over her career. She and her partner retired on Wednesday.

Good for him!

I cannot believe it's been over 30 years since I learned about the Asian dog [and cat] meat industry with its horrific cruelty and yet it STILL goes on today. Incredible. What is wrong with those people? (Of course, I could...and often do!...ask the same of anyone else who eats the flesh of other sentient beings.)

Well, It's a cultural thing. They don't see that dogs are different from chickens or pigs. Oh. Come to think of it. I don't see them as different either. But then I don't each chicken or pigs either.
